We have just arrived home safe and sound after over 5000 miles of driving round trip from Florida to Colorado and back. We are so thankful for all your prayers for us and for God’s blessings on the gatherings both at Still Waters in Winter Park, CO and US Staff Conference in Fort Collins, CO. We also had wonderful times with ministry partners, friends and family along the way.

I think we are more excited than ever about what God is going to do through Cru and through our family in the coming years. One highlight for us was hearing from Brad Bright, Dr. Bright’s son who heads up the Discover God effort with Cru. He was recalling a certain incident when a reporter was interviewing Dr. Bright. The interviewer was asking, “With such a large ministry and many activities all the time, how do you handle your problems?” Dr. Bright responded by saying, “I don’t have any problems.” The interviewer persisted, “Please don’t spiritualize, with so many staff and large projects all the time, surely you have problems!” Dr. Bright continued to confirm, “I don’t have any problems.” The interviewer exclaimed, “We all have problems!” Dr. Bright said to him, “I don’t have any problems. As a slave of Jesus Christ all I have are opportunities to see my Master work things together for His glory!”

Other highlights include messages from Francis Chan, David Platt, Rene Richardson, Steve Sellers and Steve Douglass. Especially touching was Dan Allander’s story of his story, as he used stories from his life to teach us about embracing and using our story to bring others to Jesus.

Ben is also back from his summer project of 3 weeks in Japan working with a Cru relief team in Ichinoseki in the tsunami affected area. He had a great time and enjoyed the work and serving the people there and is thinking of going again next summer as it is likely that the need will persist for several years.
We will look forward to sharing more in our newsletters. Thanks!
