Of course one of our big efforts in moving back to Orlando is getting rid of more of our “stuff”, hopefully to people who will enjoy and use it here.
So there is the save to take home piles, the put it in the thrift sale piles, and the gotta go to the trash piles. At the moment we are focusing on the thrift sale, a real community event here in Higashi Kurume, one of the largest “bazaars” around. The school PTA members can turn in tagged items which are then sorted and put out around the school gymnasium ready for people to find as treasures. Friday is for PTA members to shop, then Saturday is open to the general public. PTA members get a percentage of the tagged items profits to keep, while some goes to the PTA for school special activities.
Rochelle is on the PTA this year, so she is going to spend most of next week in the “sort and move” group working in the gym. Please pray for fun and good stamina for the week. Steve will be home watching Josh and helping get other things “ready to go.”
This is one of a few times in the year when we see many other missionaries and catch up on old friendships. One more of our “last” times we do something in Japan. We are looking forward to seeing people, but we are also working hard to sell a bunch this time too, as well as get people to drop by our house to look at the bigger items for sale. Please pray that the Lord would work all these things together for good to all of us!
