Dear praying friend,
Some quick updates. Andy is enjoying Azusa again for the fall in southern California. Ben ran 20th out of over 100 guys at the area Cross Country meet Saturday – doing well there. Melissa is doing well in her middle school Volleyball team; they were down in Yokohama this weekend. Josh went with mommy and I to see a dinosaur exhibit today – he had fun and was glad to take home a little stuffed dino toy too.
My leg still has some daily swelling to it, but seems to be making slow progress to normal.
I want to ask you all to pray this week for 3 days of meetings I will be part of called New Life Macedonia Forum. This is a twice yearly gathering of the 6 Korean men working in church-based or church assistance ministries we have. In many prior years they helped Korea CCC and Korean churches to send thousands of Korean summer workers to come alongside Japanese churches during the Korea summer break in July to distribute Jesus film audio cassettes and videos, and other evangelism activities with local Japanese churches.
Now Kazu and I are trying to help direct these men as they develop more training and year long programs assisting Japanese churches. Our goal is to see more local Japanese involved in the programs some of whom eventually take over the ministry. These outreach plans touch several areas of Japan: Tokyo, Tsukuba (northeast of Tokyo), Hiratsuka (south of Yokohama), Shizuoka, Hokkaido, Fukuoka and parts of Kyushu, and Okinawa.
Pray for God directed wisdom and insight as we plan out the coming several months and years together. Pray that we may develop more laborers to assist in these plans and for God’s provision of the needed finances. Pray for insight how to be effective working alongside Japanese churches.
Thanks so much for being partners with us in prayer!
Steve
