On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce that David Robbins has accepted the appointment to become the next president of Campus Crusade for Christ International/Cru.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the thousands of staff members, volunteers and donors worldwide who prayed for us as we sought the Lord for the next president. David succeeds Steve Sellers, Steve Douglass and Bill Bright, continuing the legacy of leaders devoted to evangelism and discipleship to help fulfill the Great Commission.
Throughout the rigorous search process, it was a privilege to witness the quality and calling of Campus Crusade for Christ International/Cru’s faithful leaders across the globe. Hearing their stories and understanding their talent and expertise was a highlight for the Board of Directors. It was humbling and exhilarating to see God’s grace reflected in each candidate.
The extensive search was deeply rooted in prayer and involved staff members from all parts of the global movement, as well as some individuals from outside the organization. We sought counsel from senior staff members, advisers, clergy, partners and leaders from other mission agencies, consistently praying, “Lord, show us the one.”
We reached a unanimous conclusion: David Robbins is the next president. He has been with Campus Crusade for Christ International/Cru since 2000. His initial experience was in campus ministry, both in the U.S. and in Europe. His next assignment led him and his wife, Meg, to help launch Cru’s Millennials Ministry in New York City. Then, in 2017, we affirmed David’s selection as president of FamilyLife, where he currently serves until he begins this new appointment as president of Campus Crusade for Christ International/Cru.
David has a heart for God and a commitment to Campus Crusade for Christ International/Cru’s core DNA. David and Meg have pioneered into missional gaps, collaborated across strategies and partnered with the body of Christ. We trust he will honor Campus Crusade for Christ’s legacy on campus and in all other ministries, while casting a vision for its future and focusing on strengthening national ministries worldwide with humility and clarity.
David’s commissioning will take place on July 18, 2024. Please join us in thanking God for His provision and in praying for Meg and David as David accepts his calling as the fourth president of Campus Crusade for Christ International/Cru.
In His service,
R. Barry Cannada
Chairman, Board of Directors
